HIBISCUS COAST RETIREMENT VILLAGE

Having returned to NZ in October 2019 to complete the Spring season I was faced with the first lockdown. I made the choice to stay in NZ and decided to return to work. I secured a position with a progressive company, Bark Ltd in managing their maintenance contract within MetLifeCare's Hibiscus Coast Village. I had a enjoyable productive year and what an absolute pleasure to provide gardens of beauty for the elder residents. A truly stimulating experience for all of us.

GREYTOWN, WAIRARAPA - Circa 2010
Owning My Own Space

ROYAL WELLINGTON GOLF CLUB  2001-2010
Head Gardener & Tree Specialist

During my tenure, I was in charge of caring for approximately 1400 varied tree species, including heritage-protected trees on this premier Golf Club, a 276-hectare property situated at Heretaunga in Wellington. I solely managed all aspects of tree care reporting directly to the committee.  This included pruning, planting, removal & disease control of the complete arboretum. Additionally, I also managed protected heritage stands of native bush, created and maintained planted gardens on the Course, managed existing wetlands and instituted regeneration of new areas. As part of a greater team, I also implemented the design & construction of new areas and features put forward for redevelopment by the committee.

BLOOMFIELD HOTEL UMALAS BALI

This unique boutique hotel is situated in the heart of Umalas. A small hotel with a big personality. Gardens pocket-sized yet concise. Scents, texture and leaves giving the Bali sensations a gorgeous tropical boost.

MONTESSORI CAMPUS CANGGU BALI

A beautiful architectural statement creating fertile spaces of learning. Conceptually the landscape had to follow. Trees to produce food. Plants that are examples of traditional use. Planting, colours & spaces to stimulate growing minds.

UMA WANA PRASTA - CEMPAKA  BALI

This premier Villa garden was already established by the time the owners asked for a renovation of the existing plantings. As for many tropical gardens, there was considerable overgrowth with a need to modify the trees allowing more sun in for better plant and lawn health. Once done replanting and using focal pots was all that was required.
